Women Flex Muscles in 5k Championships
Women Dominate 5k Road Championships: New Brunswick- The GSTC open women put on their greatest display of depth Sunday morning, as twenty-six members comprising five teams participated in the Grand Prix 5k Open Women's Championship. Out of fifteen scoring teams, the ladies finished 1st, 2nd, 5th, 9th, and 12th—racking up thirty total team points. While extending their perfect, unbeaten streak in 2013, they set club records both for number of women, and number of teams, competing in one team event.
GSTC Wins Belmar Chase Club Competition
Belmar- The GSTC won the first annual "Belmar Chase Club Contest" this weekend, awarded to the club with the most participants, flooding Ocean Avenue with 68 athletes. For the first time in club history, the WIG outnumbered the MIG in a team event...and it wasn't even close. 39 women raced for the gold, as 29 men laced up in full uniform. Men's captains Ken Walsh and Ken Goglas couldn't be reached for comment after being.....out-captained by Alyssa Douma, Karen Auteri, and Cathy Stutzman, who were somehow able to round up ten more runners....despite having a smaller pool to work from.

Belmar- The GSTC won the first annual "Belmar Chase Club Contest" this weekend, awarded to the club with the most participants, flooding Ocean Avenue with 68 Randall's Island, NYC- After two days and nineteen individual events, the USATF Club National Track and Field Championships had just five relays remaining. And, if the crowd at Icahn Stadium wasn't convinced who the best team was by then, the relays sure showed which team wanted it the most.
